Cameron Jacobson topped the Elks in scoring in every event and helped lead the Elkhorn Area High School gymnastics team to a seventh-place finish Jan. 23 in the Watertown Invitational.
The Elks competed Monday in a Southern Lakes Conference meet at Waterford, and compete Saturday in their own invitational at Elkhorn Area High School.
The Elks finished with a team score of 112.800. Host Watertown won the meet with a score of 131.750.
“Cameron competed a new vault and medaled, which was exciting,” Elks assistant coach Amanda Lockhart said.
Jacobson finished with a score of 8.55 on the vault. Rapids’ Tia Dorshorst won the event (9.25).
Ronica Fuller finished 14th (8.05) for the Elks. Madison Neinfeldt came in 22nd (7.9) Hailey Morgensen finished with a 7.8 and Elizabeth Wills scored 7.35.
Jacobson finished 10th on the uneven bars (7.4). Watertown’s Katie Curtis won the event (8.525). Neinfeldt scored a 6.7 and finished 17th. Fuller posted a 6.2 and finished 22nd.
Jacobson posted a score of 7.8 on the balance beam and finished ninth. Oconomowoc’s Claire Scholbohm won the event (9.2). Fuller finished at 6.55 and Morgensen scored a 6.15.
Jacobson finished 12th in the floor exercise (8.150). Dorshorst won the event (9.35). Fuller posted a 7.75 and finished 16th and Neinfeldt scored a 7.45 and finished 22nd.
“Ronni’s floor routine looked great,” Lockhart said. “We had some other girls step-up to compete in more events. We hope to work on some more new skills and compete them.”
Jacobson finished seventh in the all-around (31.9). Dorshorst won the all-around title (35.90). Fuller finished 17th (28.55) and Neinfeldt finished 19th (27.95).
“Madison returned on vault and competed all-around for the first time this season,” Lockhart said.
In team scores, Oconomowoc finished second (125.675). Waunakee/DeForest finished third (122.700), Wisconsin Rapids fourth (122.050) and Jefferson fifth (119.950). Germantown/Menomonee Falls finished sixth (117.325) and Hartford came in eighth (96.6).
