The Elkhorn Area High School gymnastics team lost it first road meet of the season Jan. 5 in a Southern Lakes Conference dual meet at Jefferson.
The Eagles defeated the Elks 111.975 to 105.525.
The Elks competed Monday at home in a Southern Lakes Conference meet against Burlington Combined.
The Elks dealt with a motivated Jefferson team that won every event in a front of a Parents Night crowd.
Senior Ronica Fuller finished second in the floor exercise and in the vault and sophomore Cameron Jacobson finished second on bars and on beam and third in the vault for the Elks’ best finishes.
Jacobson posted a score of 29.475 in the all-around and finished third. Jefferson’s Brianna Eilenfeldt won the all-around with a score of 29.925. Wright finished second (29.8).
The Elks are still competing without a key performer the team hopes returns soon.
“Senior Madison Neinfeldt is coming back from a torn ACL, and is hoping to be in full swing by conference,” coach Melissa Fuller said.
Jefferson won the vault with a team score of 31.6. The Elks scored a 30.55. The Eagles won the uneven bars with a team score of 23.375. Elkhorn scored 21.625.
Elkhorn scored 24.875 on the beam to the Eagles’ 27.075. Jefferson won the floor exercise with a score of 29.925.
