Elkhorn opened its Southern Lakes Conference dual meet season Sept. 3 at home with a 25-9, 25-10, 25-7 loss to Westosha Central.
Coach Justin Diderrich said the Elks struggled with Westosha’s offense in the first match and made too many unforced errors in the second match. Diderrich said the Elks played strong defense in the third match, but struggled to transition to their offense.
“We played tough, but we struggled getting our offense and defense on the same page,” Diderrich said. “If our defense was working then our offense struggled, and vise versa.
“A great learning experience and we will use it to be better the next time.”
