A tough loss the week before to McFarland meant the East Troy High School football team needed a bounce-back effort Friday night.
And that’s just what the Trojans did – they bounced back.
East Troy overcame a slow start in the first half and pulled away with a 28-point second half in a 41-20 Rock Valley Conference win over visiting Evansville-Albany.
The victory improved the Trojans to 4-1, good for a three-way tie for second behind 5-0 McFarland. East Troy, Edgerton and Beloit Turner all are 4-1.
On the road this week
East Troy is back in action tonight when it travels to Brodhead-Juda for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Cardinals, who fell to 2-3 with a 33-27 loss last week to Beloit Turner.
Crandall said his team needs to be ready for another tough battle this week.
“Brodhead is a physical team who runs the ball well,” he said. “They are very sound both offensively and defensively, so you have to have to be patient when attacking them.
“We need to continue to block and tackle as well and be assignment sound in all three phases of the game.”
