It certainly didn’t take long for the East Troy High School girls basketball team to bounce back.
Just two days after a disappointing nonconference loss last week, the Trojans put together two solid halves in a 53-45 Rock Valley Conference win over visiting Palmyra-Eagle.
The victory improved the Trojans to 7-4 overall and 3-3 in the RVC heading into a road game Tuesday night at Beloit Turner. Results of that matchup were unavailable by press time.
East Troy coach Jeff Brown was happy to see his team rebound from a 35-33 loss to Waukesha North two days before.
“We played great versus Palmyra,” he said. “We had a lot of energy.”
East Troy, which held a 27-20 advantage, was led by Erin Rice’s 20-point, eight-rebound effort. She also had four first-half 3-pointers.
“She played her best game of the year,” Brown said.
Mackenzie Lindow added 13 points and five assists, followed by Callie Vogel with six points and 10 rebounds, Maddie Rosin with six points and six rebounds and Kayla Casper with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Brown said Lindow and Rosin combined to commit just one turnover in 88 combined minutes of game time.
