With a fourth-place finish at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association State Tournament comes certain perks.

And that’s just what happened for the East Troy High School girls tennis duo of Mackenzie Lindow and Erin Rice.

Lindow-Rice, both sophomores, recently were named first-team, All-State, according to East Troy coach Dave Lindow.

The pair finished 23-4 overall, were fourth at the Division 2 State Tournament last month in Madison and also recently landed on the All-Rock Valley Conference first team.

Joining those two on the All-RVC list were senior Lora Leach, first-team singles; and the doubles duos of junior Alison Barth and senior Claudia Pott and senior Kelly Griffa and junior Allison Slusar, who were honorable mention.

East Troy boys and girls cross country and boys soccer also landed several athletes on All-RVC teams.

The East Troy girls cross country team, which last week won the WIAA Division 2 state title, had five athletes on each of the three teams, while the boys had four.

Leading the girls on the first team were the freshmen trio of Madison Desing, Ella Rondeau and Christina Nolting, while senior Madison Rosin was named to the second team.

On the boys’ side, senior Evan Harding and sophomore Jacob Smith earned first-team spots. They were joined by sophomore Nathan Fox, who was named to the second team.

Sophomore Morgan Bartlett and freshman Tommy Larson each were honorable mention selections.

The East Troy boys soccer team placed five players on All-RVC squads, led by junior defender Denver Roberts, who was voted to the first team.

Named to the second team were senior goalie Nic Blair and senior utility player Vince Baxter. Honorable mention picks were seniors Max Oldenburg and Jared Paullin.
