The East Troy girls cross country team won the RVC North Division title last week at Edgerton, while the boys were second.
East Troy’s first-place finish was its highest since 2009, the last time the girls won the North Division crown.
Leading the girls was freshman Madison Desing, second (19:25), followed by freshman Ella Rondeau, fourth (20:03.7); senior Madison rosin, fifth (20:12.7); freshman Christina Nolting, sixth (20:17.1); and sophomore Morgan Bartlett, 16th (22:23.9).
East Troy finished with 33 points, well ahead of Jefferson’s 65, Evansville’s 76, McFarland’s 78 and Whitewater’s 97.
On the boys’ side, senior Evan Harding was fourth in 16:55.5 to lead the Trojans, followed by sophomore Jacob Smith, eighth (17:37); freshman Tommy Larson, ninth (17:47.2); sophomore Nathan Fox, 10th (17:48.1); and freshman Calvin Collins, 17th (18:29.2).
McFarland won the team title with 43 points, followed by East Troy with 48, Jefferson with 62, Whitewater with 89, Evansville with 124 and Edgerton with 147.
The second-place effort was the Trojans’ best since 2004 when it was second as well.
East Troy’s girls were third at Saturday’s Chocolate City Invite in Burlington, while the boys were fifth.
The girls, who had 86 points, were led by Desing, sixth (19:05) and Rondeau, 12th (19:30). The boys, who had 137 points, were led by Harding, sixth in 16:37, while Fox was 19th (17:08).
