Girls come in third with two individual titles

The East Troy High School boys and girls track teams put their best feet forward Tuesday night.
East Troy’s boys won the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 2 Clinton Regional title, while the girls were third overall.
The Trojans posted 146 points to win claim the boys’ title, followed by Lakeside Lutheran with 126, White-water with 1, Lake Mills with 85, Jefferson with 80, St. Johns Northwestern Military with 46, Big Foot and Clinton with 43 and Palmyra-Eagle with 13.
East Troy coach Josh Herrell was pleased with the boys’ overall effort Tuesday night.
“The boys team really per-formed well,” he said. “They put themselves in position to get a number of entries through to state. After winning the North Division and the conference meet, this as a nice win for them to add to their great season.”
On the girls’ side, Jefferson was first with 170 points, followed by Lakeside Lutheran with 164, East Troy with 118.5, Whitewater with 68, Clinton with 66.5, Big Foot with 46, Lake Mills with 39 and Palmyra-Eagle with 12.
The boys claimed four regional titles Tuesday night.
Finishing first were Charlie Kutschenreuter in the 400 (51.02); the 1,600-meter relay team of Nathan Nguyen, Evan Harding, Jacob Remza and Kutschenreuter; Miles Kilpin in the shot put (52-4 1/2); and the 3,200-meter relay team of Remza, Harding, Nguyen and Kutschereuter (8:18.99).
Also scoring points with top-eight finishes were Brody Kazik, second in the 1,600 (4:40.65) and the 3,200 (10:29.84); Nguyen, second in the 400 (51.45); Anthony Leahy, second in the high jump (6-0); Harding, second in the 800 (2:04.85); Jake Wendt, third in the shot put (49-3); Billy Dominski, fourth in the 110-hurdles (16.77); the 800-meter relay team of Denver Roberts, Joey Dominski, Billy Dominski and Allen Olson, fourth (1:39.08); Truman Kent, fourth in the 300-hurdles (43.55); Billy Dominski, fifth in the 300-hurdles (43.64); Remza, fifth in the 400 (53.69); the 400-meter relay team of Kent, Zach Zewiske, Joey Dominski and Roberts, fifth (48.14); Kutschenreuter, sixth in the long jump (19-11 1/4); Olson, seventh in the triple jump (39-0); Nolan Dallas, seventh in the 3,200 (11:50.28); and Joey Dominski, eighth in the triple jump (38-1).
Girls win two titles
On the girls’ side, the Trojans brought home two titles from the regional.
Winning events were Hope Schneider in the high jump (5-4) and M.E. Dodge in the discus (120-4).
Also placing in the top eight were the 3,200-meter relay team of Erin Parr, Char-lotte Plehn, Amanda Bustillos and Katie Hodges, second (10:17.42); Hodges, second in the 400 (1:02.93); Plehn, third in the 400 (1:02.93); Bustillos, third in the 3,200 (13:20.34); the 1,600-meter relay team of Katie Hodges, Santos, Plehn and Schneider, third (4:15.48); Callie Vogel, third in the triple jump (34-3 3/4); Jenna Hodges, fourth in the 400 (1:05.61); the 400-meter team of Katie Zewiske, Vogel, Dodge and Schneider, fourth (52.92); Hannah Buchholtz, fourth in the pole vault (8-6); Katrina Santos, fourth in the high jump (4-11) and fifth in the long jump (16-2);
The 800-meter relay team of Zewiske, Vogel, Dodge and Schneider, fourth (1:51.81); Parr, fifth in the 800 (2:32.54); Michaela Evans, fifth in the pole vault (8-0); Sydney Scadden, fifth in the 300-hurdles (51.7) and eighth in the 100-hurdles (17.94); Eva Solbjerg, sixth in the shot put (30-4) and eighth in the discus (85-6); Zewiske, sixth in the 200 (29.5); Kelly Flynn, sixth in the 1,600 (6:27.12); and Heather Vivian, seventh in the 800 (2:36.07).
The top four finishers in each event qualified for the sectional meet at East Troy Friday, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
