When all is right with the East Troy High School girls soccer team the Trojans score goals in bunches.
And the good news is that happened twice last week in a pair of convincing Rock Valley Conference victories.
East Troy surpassed the eight-goal mark for the third time this season in wins of 8-1 over Edgerton April 13 and 8-3 over Palmyra-Eagle Monday night.
In between those two wins, the Trojans dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision April 16 at Whitewater.
The 2-1 week improved East Troy to 3-2 overall and 3-2 in the RVC heading into a home match Tuesday night against Southern Lakes Conference foe Waterford. Results were unavailable by press time.
A pair of hat tricks led the Trojans Monday night, as Brianna Casper and Monica Zoellner each scored three goals. Brianna Probst added a goal and two assists, while Olivia Healy had a goal and an assist.
Goalie Jessica Gulig stopped 18 shots for the Trojans.
Offense was a bit tougher to come by in the loss to Whitewater, as both Probst and Zoellner had a goal apiece to lead the way. Gulig had seven saves for the Trojans.
Three girls got into the scoring act in the week’s first match, as both Casper and Zoellner again had three goals and Probst added two. Zoellner, Probst and Healy each had an assist, while Gulig recorded one save.
Following Tuesday’s matchup with Waterford, the Trojans were back in action Thursday night when they hosted Jefferson. East Troy closes out its week next Monday with an RVC contest at McFarland.
