The East Troy High School girls finished fifth and the boys were sixth in Division 3 at last week’s Verona Invitational.
East Troy’s girls’ squad had 129 points, while the boys recorded 147.
Team standings in the girls’ race were Edgewood with 28 points, Aquinas with 61, Mauston with 75 and New Glarus-Monticello with 109.
East Troy, which was 18th overall in the three-division race, was led by senior Erin Parr, who was 13th in 22:10. Following Parr to the finish line were sophomore were Maddie Rosin, 16th (22:17); freshman Kelly Flynn, 30th (23:33); sophomore Emerson Dignan, 31st (23:57); sophomore Heather Vivian, 39th (24:43); and senior Sarah Vivian, 43rd (25:40).
Mauston won the Division 3 boys race with 34 points, followed by Platteville with 47 points, Aquinas with 76, Westfield with 111 and New Glarus-Monticello with 118.
East Troy, which was 20th overall, was led by senior Body Kazik, who was 10th in 18:28. Other top efforts were turned in by junior Gabe Braam, 29th (19:25); sophomore Nolan Dallas, 33rd (20:11); junior Sam Foley, 34th (20:17); sophomore Kelcye DeMarr, 41st (20:46); sophomore Allen Herrell, 43rd (20:49); and junior Charlie Ward, 49th (22:15).
Middleton won the overall girls’ title with 67 points, while Madison LaFollette won the boys with 46.
Both East Troy squads were back in action Thursday at the 14-team East Troy Invitational and will travel to Edgerton Tuesday, Sept. 16.
Soccer team falls twice
The East Troy boys soccer team remained in the hunt for its first win of the season last week with a pair of tough losses.
East Troy fell 10-0 at Whitewater Sept. 2 and 3-0 to visiting Evansville Sept. 4.
The Trojans took an 0-8-0 overall record into a Rock Valley Conference road match Tuesday at Big Foot. East Troy hosts Edgerton Thursday.
