The East Troy boys basketball team took its show on the road last week – and needless to say, the Trojans weren’t the most polite house guests.
In a pair of Rock Valley Conference games, the Trojans were barely challenged, as they rolled to a 73-48 win over Parkview, followed by a 76-35 victory at Evansville three days later.
The two-game road sweep improved East Troy, ranked fifth in Division 3, to 12-2 overall and 10-0 in the RVC.
Against Parkview, the opening quarter actually was a bit on the tight side, as East Troy held a 23-18 lead after eight minutes.
From there, however, the Trojans rolled.
East Troy outscored the Vikings 20-4 in the second quarter to take a commanding 43-22 lead into halftime. The Trojans closed the game with a 30-26 scoring advantage the final two quarters.
Nate Dodge led the way with 26 points, followed by Brett Prahl with 18 and Alex Prahl with eight.
The week’s second game wasn’t nearly as tight, as East Troy controlled the action at Evansville right from the start.
East Troy jumped out to a 23-7 lead in the first quarter and held a 46-18 advantage by the intermission to cruise to the win.
Dodge had a team-high 22 points, followed by Brett Prahl with 16, Alex Prahl with 13 and Will Illoncaie with 12.
East Troy was back in action Thursday night against visiting Beloit Turner (7-8 overall, 5-5 RVC). The Trojans host Racine Case Saturday, Jan. 26, in a non-conference contest.
Case began play this week at 10-3 overall and on top of the Southeast Conference at 7-0. The game with Case begins at 7 p.m.
Entering play this week, Wisconsin Dells continues to hold the top spot in the Division 3 rankings at 13-0, followed by Lodi at 13-0, Little Chute at 12-1, La Crosse Aquinas at 11-2 and the Trojans.
