Back in 1996, the first Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association All-Star game took place at UW-Eau Claire and a local student recently took part in this year’s game.

On June 18, the WFSCA held its annual All-Star game at the Woodside Sports Complex in the Wisconsin Dells and Delavan-Darien High School was represented by senior shortstop Sydney Anderson.

Anderson earned her spot onto the Division 2/3 red team thanks to being recognized by Comets head coach Hank Johnson and then was chosen to participate by the WFSCA.

Anderson was one of 12 members on the team and one of 72 players to make a Division 2/3 All-Star team.

In the 2019 season, Delavan-Darien went 3-18 overall and made it to the second round of the WIAA Tournament before losing to No. 1-seeded Whitnall.

Anderson went 2-for-3 from the plate in the team’s first-round postseason win over Edgerton and finished second on the team this past season in runs and RBIs according to wissports.net.

Anderson plans to attend UW-Whitewater and continue her softball career.
