It was a clean sweep for the Delavan-Darien High School boys baseball team as it went 3-0 last week, beating Williams Bay in non-conference action, and taking two games from Lake Geneva Badger in Southern Lakes Conference action.
May 5 the Comets (8-6, 4-4) hosted Williams Bay and won in five innings, 19-1.
On May 6 the Comets traveled to Badger and won 11-2 and then last Thursday hosted Badger and won 7-4.
The Comets collected 11 hits in their win over Williams Bay with Devin Salas leading the Comets with three hits.
Isiah Ramos, Isaac Ramos and Micah Heath had two hits each.
The Comets scored three runs in the first inning and followed that up with 11 runs in the second inning, one in the third inning and four in the fourth inning for the 19-1 win.
Isiah Ramos got the win, pitching three innings, striking out six and walking only one.
In Lake Geneva, the Badgers scored first in the bottom of the first inning and then took the 2-0 lead in the second inning before the Comets put five runs on the board to take the 5-2 lead.
Orin Jenks started the inning off with a single, and Josh Pickel reached on an error. Isiah Ramos singled, scoring Jenks, and Isaac Ramos singled, scoring Pickel and Isiah Ramos.
Isaac Ramos scored, and Heath reached on an error and scored, putting the Comets up 5-2 before the inning was over.
From the mound, Heath had three strike-outs in the bottom of the third inning and then hit a single in the top of the fourth inning, scoring Pickel who walked earlier, making it 6-2.
The Comets added five more runs in the last three innings of play to get the 11-2 win.
The Comets had 13 hits in the game with Heath and Seitz getting three hits each and Salas and Isiah Ramos adding two hits each.
Last Thursday the Comets hosted Badger and this time started out with the lead, going up 1-0 in the first inning after singles by Isiah and Isaac Ramos.
The Comets added four runs in the third inning when Ethan Cesarz started the inning with a single, followed by a double by Isiah Ramos. Salas hit a single, scoring Cesarz and Ramos. Heath then walked and Benzing reached on a fielder’s choice, and, after both scored, the Comets went up 5-0.
After holding Badger scoreless in the fourth inning, the Comets added two runs in the bottom of the fourth after Cesarz and Salas scored on a double by Isaac Ramos to pull ahead 7-0.
The Badgers finally got on the board in the sixth inning, scoring two runs, and added two runs in the top of the seventh, but the Comets held on for the 7-4 win.
Salas had three hits, and Isiah and Isaac Ramos had two hits each.
Seitz got the win for the Comets, pitching the complete game. Seitz struck out three, walked four and gave up six hits.
The Comets travel to Waterford Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. game and Saturday travel to Edgerton for a 10 a.m. game.
Tuesday the Comets host Burlington for a 4:30 p.m. game.
