The Delavan-Darien High School girls soccer team has the top spot in the Southern Lakes Conference early in the season after knocking off Elkhorn, Waterford and Westosha Central.
The Comets (9-3, 3-0) beat Waterford 1-0 on April 29 and then beat Elkhorn in a 1-0 overtime victory May 1.
On Thursday the Comets beat Westosha Central 3-0 to start their conference season at 3-0.
In non-conference action, the Comets beat Lakeside Lutheran 3-1 on May 6 and took second place at the Cudahy Invite on Saturday, beating Milwaukee Reagan 1-0, Cudahy 6-0, before losing to St. Thomas Moore, 1-0 for second place.
Against Waterford in April, Ally Doerr had an early Comet goal at the 18-minute mark, and after that the game became a defensive battle with both teams unable to convert on their shots.
With the Doerr goal, the Comets got the 1-0 win.
Macie Hill had four saves in the victory.
In Elkhorn on May 1, the Comets battled through 80 minutes of play with the Elks with neither team picking up a goal.
Just over six minutes into the first overtime period, Doerr found Emily Zugay who scored, lifting the Comets to the 1-0 golden goal victory.
Hill had a season-high eight saves.
May 6 the Comets hosted Lakeside Lutheran in non-conference action, and, behind two goals from Doerr and one from Zugay, the Comets went on for the 3-1 win.
Doerr scored the first goal of the game on an assist by Kylie Collins at the 8:22 mark.
Before time ran out in the first half, Lakeside scored, tying things up at 1-1 going into halftime.
Doerr scored again in the second half on the assist by Hill, and Zugay finished the Comet scoring with Alyssa Wegner getting the assist to put the Comets ahead at 3-1.
The Comet offense took 21 shots, and defensively Hill had four saves.
On Thursday the Comets hosted Westosha Central and shut them out, winning 3-0.
Amanda Huerta scored for the Comets at 10:29, and Collins was credited with the assist.
The Comets had the 1-0 halftime lead before Doerr and Zugay scored in the second half, giving the Comets the 3-0 win.
Claudia Nieuwenhuis was credited with the assist on the Zugay goal, and Hill had four saves.
On Saturday the Comets travelled to Cudahy and took second at the invite.
The Comets started their day with a 1-0 win over Milwaukee Reagan, with Doerr getting the goal on a Zugay assist.
Cudahy was up next for the Comets and they shut them out 6-0.
Zugay had two goals, and Kelly Deschner, Ellen Schutt, Avery Hembrook and Alexi Arreola had one goal each.
Doerr, Collins and Huerta had one assist each.
In the championship match, the Comets were shut out by St. Thomas Moore, 1-0.
Thursday the Comets travel to Lake Geneva Badger for a 6:30 p.m. game and Saturday will travel to New Glarus for the Sugar River Invite.
Tuesday the Comets head to Union Grove for a 6:30 p.m. game.
