The Lake Geneva Badger girls’ track team scored nine points and took 17th at the highly competitive Lake Michigan High School Invitational at Carthage College last Friday. Lake Central won the event with 82 points.
The Badger relay teams had the most success. The 4×800 Relay team of Karina Reeves, Tristan Sproul, Elle Adams, and Alyssa Olsen took third (10:25.86). The 4×400 Relay team of Reeves, Sproul, Elle Adams, and Julia Adams took sixth (4:20.93). The 4×200 Relay team of Taylor Ajamian, Angelina Labonne, Molly Keenan, and Shelby Peck took 25th (2:09.26).
Individually, Liberty Wieseman took tenth in the Shot Put (33’2”) and Hali Davis took 18th (30’8”). Allison Paleka took 10th in the High Jump (4’10”), 10th in the Long Jump (16’2”), and 18th in the Triple Jump (30’9”). Olivia Asta took 26th in the 55 Meter Hurdles (10.59) and 29th in the Long Jump (14’8”). Ciara Johnson finished 19th in the Triple Jump (30’8”).
Julia Adams finished 22nd in the 800 Meter Run (2:43.67). Ariel Altergott took 25th in the 400 Meter Dash (1:09.31). Cassie Mennenoh finished 27th in the 3,200 Meter Run (13:40.26).
Boys fail to place
The Badger boys did not win a point and failed to place in the boys’ bracket on Saturday.
The top individual finish was 14th by Alex Martinez in the 3,200 Meter Run (10:12.70) and Sam Lasch in the Long Jump (19’4.75”). Andrew Cychner took 17th in the 55 Meter Hurdles (8.82). Andrew Allen finished 18th in the Long Jump (18’6”).
Zane Zachary took 21st in the Triple Jump (38’6”) and 21st in the 200 Meter Dash (24.71). Evan Gibson took 24th in the Shot Put (42’4”) followed by Carlos Garcia at 26th (41’11”). Mike Mann took 26th in the 200 Meter Dash (24.81). Christian Sontag finished 26th in the 400 Meter Dash (56.98).
The 4×200 Relay team of Allen, Mann, Zachary, and Connor Kotula took 15th (1:40.21). The 4×800 team of took 18th and the 4×400 team took 24th (3:54.98).
The Badger boys participated in the Cudahy Indoor Meet yesterday. The girls compete in the same event Thursday. The girls are scheduled to compete at the Waukesha South Invitational on Saturday.
