Amen to Danielle Stemper’s Letter to the Editor in the March 15, 2013, issue of the East Troy Times. She’s right on target, in my opinion.
We as responsible adults should know the difference between “needs” and “wants.” Our kids need and deserve a “challenging educational environment with only the best resources,” as Danielle states. One hundred percent of students would reap the benefits of this on a daily basis.
It’s unfortunate the auditorium is bundled with repairs and improvements that are needed. It shouldn’t be an all or nothing choice.
When students get the proper curriculum and the benefit of good teachers, test scores will rise and school choice students will queue up to come to East Troy schools.
We must make sure our kids graduate prepared to make wise life choices and succeed in the environment that they will be graduating into.
Pro-auditorium community members, I’m not your enemy. I just believe we need to educate our kids first. Then, the “wants” will follow.

I believe looking at the referendum votes that this is exactly how people feel. The referendum issue should have been two part.
