LETTER: Romney’s trapeze act is enough to give you whiplash

Mitt Romney’s campaign reminds me of watching a trapeze act at the circus.

All his flying turns and twists in mid- air, swinging wildly from one trapeze bar to another with breathtaking speed; it really is quite entertaining.

First he swings to the left and supports a woman’s right to choose, then swings right and opposes it.

Then he swings back again and supports an insurance mandate but now swings right again and is against it.

Another swing left and he is in favor of gay rights, and then just as suddenly he is against it.

Then he swings right and supports huge tax break for the wealthy as part of his trickledown theory, and then, during the debate, he swings back again and opposes it. It’s enough to give the average voter whiplash.

Fortunately though, even if Mitt misses the trapeze bar and falls, not to worry, he has his safety net, the $25 million he makes a year off his investments and pays only 14 percent in taxes on.

Barnum and Bailey would be impressed.
