Vote YES for education!
There is a very important referendum on your ballot for the Nov. 4 election. The Whitewater Unified School District is asking Whitewater residents to renew existing tax levy authority for another four years. If we want to keep our current excellent programs in place and also keep class sizes from ballooning, we should vote YES for this referendum. This will actually have a revenue neutral impact on the overall tax levy. The WUSD will be going from paying off debt to investing in technology, infrastructure and the great programs our schools offer.
For more information, you can watch our local TV station at 7:00 p.m. every evening to see an excellent presentation by our District Administrator Eric Runez and Business Manager Nathan Jaeger or check out the Whitewater Unified School District’s website at www.wwusd.org and click on Referendum.
Here is the wording of the referendum which you will find on the back of your ballot:
“Shall the Whitewater Unified School District, Jefferson, Rock and Walworth Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $1,200,000 a year beginning with the 2015-2016 school year through the 2018-2019 school year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of the following objectives: maintaining elementary class sizes, student support services, comprehensive instructional programs, co-curricular programs, technology infrastructure, and facilities maintenance?”
So turn your ballot over and vote YES to support our Whitewater schools!
