Leslie Dean Babcock, 94, formerly of Delavan, passed away October 28, 2022.
Leslie was born July of 1928 to Bert E. Babcock and Dorothy F. (Vail) Babcock. Les graduated from Delavan High School in 1946.
He worked the railroad for a stint, and then graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1956 with a degree in business. In 1956, he married Joyce Mae Christensen of Mount Carroll, Illinois. In 1957 he completed his masters degree at University of Illinois Champaign.
Les held the position of Director of Personnel in several companies he worked for; Walker Manufacturing in Racine and Jackson, Michigan. Les then worked at Newport News Shipyard Newport News in Virginia and finally for Aro Manufacturing in Bryan, Ohio where he retired in 1990.
He and Joyce then moved to New Bern, North Carolina, to enjoy their retirement. They enjoyed many family reunions at the beach. Family was very important to them. Joyce passed away in March of 2014. In July of 2020, Les moved in with his daughter, Sue, and son in law Bill Martin in Houston. Les was very comfortable in the warm weather and the dedicated caregiving of his family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; brother, Grayson and parents.
Les is survived by his children, Gregory and Barb (Bastar), Randy and Tammy (Kee), David and Robin (Andrews), and Susan and Bill Martin; seven grandchildren, Christine, Danielle, Matt, Bill Jr. wife, Kate, Katie, Tim wife Bridget and Todd; four great grandchildren, Makenzi, Drew, Payton and Charlotte.
