Vincent Heidt, 98, of Delavan, passed away on Oct. 18, 2022, at home in Delavan.
He was born in Dickinson, North Dakota, on Jan. 23, 1924, to Roy and Veronica (Olheiser) Heidt. Vince was united in marriage to Cecilia Huschka on Oct. 15, 1946, in South Heart, North Dakota.
Vince started his career as a butcher in Dickinson at the Deck Meat Plant. After moving to Delavan in 1966, he worked for many years at Sentry in Lake Geneva until he retired.
In retirement, he enjoyed playing golf and working part time as a groundskeeper at St. Andrews Cemetery. He had a quick wit and loved to use it. Vince was a longtime member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Delavan. Vince was an avid reader, especially a fan of western novels.
Vince is survived by his wife of 76 years, Cecilia; one sister, Dorothy Huck of Moorehead, Minnesota; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jedlicka from Delavan, and Roberta Huschka, Delavan, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous brothers, sisters and in-laws.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 714 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church. Burial will take place at St. Andrews Cemetery. Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan is assisting the family.
