Richard P. Raichert, born Oct. 8, 1942, in Chicago, passed away Sept. 24, 2022, at home in Panama City Beach, Florida, with family by his side after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
He is predeceased by his parents, Roman Raichert and Eleanor Frymark Raichert, of Des Plaines, Illinois; and his son, Scott Richard Raichert, of Union City, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Raichert, of Panaman City Beach; his daughter, Lori Elnagar of Chesnee, South Carolina, her husband, Dr. Gamal Elnagar; and grandson, Gordon Scott, who is attending Pomona College in Claremont, California; daughter, Patti Goodwin, of Augusta, Georgia, her husband, Dr. Henry N. Goodwin Jr., grandson, Henry North Goodwin III, who is attending University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, granddaughter, Isabelle Walker Goodwin; his sister, Dianne Catlin, of Sarasota, Florida; and his nieces, Kim Nicholson, of Irvine, California and Kristi Dietz, of Woodland Hills, California.
He attended Maine Township High School in Des Plaines, Illinois, and Marquette University in Milwaukee, where he graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
He was first employed by Louis Allis Company in Milwaukee, as an industrial manufacturing engineer and RTE Corporation in Waukesha, as an industrial engineer. He joined Sta-Rite Industries in February 1972 as a manufacturing engineer and retired from Sta-Rite as a plant manager in Union City, Tennessee in 1992.
He and his wife have been devoted members of Woodlawn Church in Panama City Beach since moving there in 2007. He was a loyal member of the Life Class, which he enjoyed so much. Boating, fishing, bowling and hunting were his passions.
A private family service will be held at a later date in Panama City Beach, Florida and Kenton, Tennessee.
