Jean Mary McDonough, 77, a resident of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully June 7, 2022, at Trustwell Living Overland Park, Kansas.
She was born Jan. 2, 1945, to Tyyri and Irene (Bockhaus) Kauppinen in Rhinelander. Jean graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1963. She was united in marriage to James McDonough on July 20, 1968, in Rhinelander.
Jean worked as a receptionist for St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs. She was Catholic by faith. Jean enjoyed bird watching, playing badminton and taking her dog Lady to St. Mary’s Manor in Blue Springs. She had a joyous laugh, loved to celebrate the Fourth of July and always welcomed friends into her home.
Jean is survived by her sons, Scott McDonough of Blue Springs; Jeff McDonough and wife Natalie of Kansas City, Mo., their children, Allison, Chase, Ashley, and Madison.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Judith Swartz.
A celebration of life will be held at Alexander Majors Barn Located at 8201 State Line Road Kansas City, Missouri, 64114 on July 2 from noon to 4 p.m. Please wear your red, white and blue.
