Robert G. Ingersoll, 81, of East Troy, passed peacefully July 17, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Bob and his brother Dan were born and raised by Clark and Donna (Sternike) Ingersoll in New London. There he graduated from high school and went on to serve in the U.S. Army.
Soon after he met his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Jane Combs. Bob and Mary enjoyed life together raising their family in Beloit and then East Troy.
He enjoyed a long and successful career in the cement industry.
He also enjoyed NASCAR, cracking hickory nuts and making grapevine wreaths. Bob loved going to “the cabin” with Mary; up north to the place where he truly felt at home. Most of all he loved the simple pleasures of being with his family and friends.
Bob will be greatly missed by those that survive him. They include his wife; daughters, Doris (Steve) Wedige, Robin (Dave) Hudec and Rita (Jeff Weber) Ingersoll; grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Adams, Scott (Hailey) Wedige, Kathryn (Sean) Nack, Clark Hudec and Sage Hudec; great-grandchildren, Ella, Grayson and Theodore Wedige, Calvin and William Adams and Leo Nack; nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Legacy Funeral Services, 2974 Main St., East Troy. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
