CHARLES WILLIAMS

Charles Richard Williams, 88, of Elkhorn, passed away on May 17, 2021, at Tender Reflections assisted living facility in Elkhorn.

He was born in Dover, New Jersey, on Sept. 4, 1932, to Charles R. Williams and Sallie Mildred (Jones) Williams. He married Joanne M. Cooper on June 25, 1955, in Buffalo, New York.

Charles was most known as Papa, Dad, Charlie, Buddy or Chuck. He was the glue that kept us together. He was always there to support his children and his wife, with video camera in hand, always taking care of his family. He was also a master at pancakes – his special recipe was fluffy and fabulous.

He worked into his 80s because he just couldn’t stop; he always needed to stay active. In his later years he was the fulltime caretaker of his loving wife, Joanne. His dream was to have all of us live together as a “family unit” in the same home, each of us having our own wing and we could meet in the great room to have fun together, family moments and bonding.

Charles is survived by two sisters, Laney (Laura) Rich, Karen Monica and extended family; three children, Tracey Frederichs (husband, Gerry Frederichs), Brett Williams and Kelsey Pickering (husband, William Pickering); 10 grandchildren, Brad Lupo, Brett Lupo, Taylor Lupo, Morgan Frederichs, Jevonne Williams, Julia Williams, Jonah Williams, Cody Williams, James Pickering and Emily Pickering; five great-grandchildren, Jace Lupo, Adriaan Lupo, Olivia Williams, Sophia Williams, Riley Williams; and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sallie Mildred Williams and Charles Richard Williams.

He was an honorably discharged captain of the U.S. Air Force.

No services will be held at this time. We will have a celebration of life for both our father and mother this summer.
