Carl D. Porter, 79, of Whitewater, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 at Rainbow Hospice House.
Born in Iowa City, Iowa on Sept. 21, 1941, he was the son of Carl Edward Porter and Lucille Dora Baker.
He lived in Iowa City until the age of 12 when his family moved to California. Where he met and was united in marriage to Judith A. Martin from Wisconsin. Following the marriage, they moved to Wisconsin and he has been a resident of Whitewater since 1991.
Carl worked as a machinist at Wisconsin Centrifugal for 16 years and worked as a custodian at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater before retiring in 2003. He served in the National Guard in 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Lisa (Charles) Savage, Michael (Terri) Porter, and Kathy Porter – a traveling nurse caring for the COVID-19 patients since February 2020; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister; and daughter, Suzanne Mary Boardman.
