Virginia M. Hovestol was born Feb. 19, 1929, in Chicago, to Rueben and Hazel (Carlson) Hendrickson.
She was united in marriage to Harold Hovestol on Dec. 11, 1948, at the Salem Evangelical Free Church in Chicago, Illinois. Virginia passed away on Jan. 9, 2021, at Golden Years in Walworth.
Virginia was devoted to her family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was intentional in all areas of her life and deeply committed to prayer. She cared for her husband, Harold, with an abiding love and had a special way of connecting with each member of her family in a personal way. Her quiet influence on the lives of others was subtle, but profound.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Carey) Hovestol, Mark (Holly) Hovestol, Jon (Helen) Hovestol, Steve (Chrys) Hovestol, Joel (Annette) Hovestol, Ginny (Dave) Ahrens and Dan (Gwenn) Hovestol; daughter-in-law, Martha Hovestol; 23 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; firstborn son, David; as well as two brothers and three sisters.
A visitation will be held at Calvary Community Church in Williams Bay on Saturday, Jan. 23, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at East Delavan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Calvary Community Church or Pacific Garden Mission.
