Marlys J. Gallup, 93, of Delavan passed away on Jan. 9, 2021, at home in Delavan.
She was born in Elkhorn on June 7, 1927, to Clarence and Madora (Folkers) Bellman. Marlys graduated from Delavan High School in 1945 and then went to Ripon College and obtained a degree in secretarial science.
Marlys was united in marriage to Gene Gallup on April 1, 1949, at the Delavan United Methodist Church. Marlys was a bookkeeper for Gallup Electric. Marlys was a lifelong member of the Delavan United Methodist Church. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Delavan Women Auxiliary, and the READS program.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Gene; three daughters, Carol Breaker, of Hortonville, Joann (John) Churchill, of Parker, Ariz. and Jane (George) Koehl, of Darien; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Gallup, of Delavan; four grandchildren, Kyle (Lisa) Breaker, Brian Breaker, Courtney (Chris) Goetsch and Katie (JJ Blair) Gallup; five great-grandchildren, Camryn, Lainey, Kensley, Lawson and Weston; three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Wright, Betty Peacock and Dorothy Gallup; and a brother-in-law, Ellie Lee.
Marlys is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dean Gallup; son-in-law, Ken Breaker; sister, Lois Lee; and brothers-in-law, Brad Wright, Robert Gallup and John Peacock.
The family is grateful to the caring staff of Team Love over the last few years and Aurora at Home Hospice Care over the last few weeks.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
