Eleanor J. Condon, 86, of East Troy, entered into the Lord’s presence Dec. 27, 2020. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois, on June 21, 1934, to Claire and Hazel (Perkins) Gleason.
She graduated from Grayslake High School in 1952.
Eleanor married the late Robert “Bob” W. Condon on Aug. 23, 1953. They were married 64 years. The couple moved to a farm in East Troy, in 1967 and raised their family there.
She took pride in raising her family. She enjoyed walking for fitness, playing piano for local churches, and supporting missionaries worldwide. She was a devoted member of Briggs Road Evangelical Free Church in Elkhorn. She was an active member of the local TOPS group.
Eleanor is survived by her children Kathie (Jim) Roberts, Rob (Sue) Condon, Ron (Gigi) Condon, Rod (Laurie) Condon, Randy (Sue) Condon, and Ryan (Robin) Condon; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Theresa Miller; as well as many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Elaine Bennett, and siblings-in-law, Kay Adams, Ed Condon Jerry Condon, Johan Neaubauer, and Bonnie Hill.
A private family service will at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Briggs Road Evangelical Free Church. A celebration of life gathering will be planned for the summer of 2021.
Eleanor and Bob supported a number of charitable organizations throughout their lives, including Bertram Bobb Bible Camp, Biblical Ministries, Briggs Street Evangelical Church, Christian Missions in Many Lands, Ethnos 360 Mission, Independent Bible Mission, Milwaukee Rescue Mission, The Salvation Army, St Jude Childrens Hospital, Worldwide Proclamation.
Eleanor requested, in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Eleanor J. Condon Memorial Fund, W4178 County Road J, East Troy, WI 53120.
All memorials will be dispersed to the charities that meant so much to Bob and Eleanor.
