Elvera Lieurance, 94, born Oct. 10, 1926 in Palatine, Ill. to Arthur and Dorothea Linnemann, went to home to her maker on Dec. 6, 2020.
She married Gordon Lieurance on Jan. 17, 1953. They lived in Delavan all their lives. She and Gordon farmed for many years. Then Elvera went to work in a factory for many years into her 80s. She retired from Swiss Tech when she was 85 years old.
Elvera was an extremely hard worker. She and Gordon spent many years raising horses and ponies. They did many things from showing horses to trail riding. She was the backbone of the family. She loved and supported her daughters and their families in all their endeavors. They joked about her being the “Energizing Bunny.”
Elvera had three daughters, Georgette (Tim) Flynn of Williams Bay, Alice (Brian) Davis of Darien and Mary (Todd) Propson of Wyoming; seven grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Flynn, Alisha (Michael) and Amanda (Louie) and Bryce (Alyssa) Grant, Murray and Harlee Propson; two great- grandchildren, Raylen and Rhett Condrad. She also had two more great-grandchildren due in 2021. She is also survived by a sister, Lois (Leroy) Evans of Delavan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five siblings.
There will not be a public service. The family will have a private burial in Spring Grove Cemetery on Dec. 21. Betzer Family Funeral Home of Delavan is serving the Lieurance family.
