Doris graduated from Spencer High School in 1950. She met her husband, Lee Carter, at the Spencer Roller Rink and they were married in Danville, Kentucky, on Oct. 22, 1952.
Lee’s job had them moving to many different areas, so in 1964 they relocated to East Troy where they raised their family.
Doris was an avid genealogist, an artist, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a wonderful homemaker who will be missed very much.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Carter, Gayle (Brad) Hays, Kathy Carter, Kim (Mark) Carter, Laurel (Brian) Martens and Stacy (Michael Diliberto); sister, Lila DiBerardino; grandchildren, Alison (Mark) Rivett, Aaron (Veronica Szabo) Pruefert, Amber (Greg) Sherman, Lila Alfano, Nathan Glishke, Rachel Glishke, Tom (Katie) Manschot and Kylee Martens; 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and her older brothers and sisters. A private family service and burial were held.
Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, had the honor of serving the family.
