Douglas Lee Ottow, 60, of East Troy, passed away on March 22, 2020, at Aurora Medical Center-Summit after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born Oct. 19, 1959, in Elkhorn to Darrell and Lucille (Zarnstorff).
He was a lifelong resident of East Troy. He graduated from East Troy High School in 1978.
Douglas married Chris Kneiert on Oct. 26, 1991.
He was a long-time employee of Asset Development Group. Douglas was a lifelong member of the Triangle Sportsman’s Club. He also enjoyed yearly fishing and hunting trips with his close friend Dean Look.
Douglas was an avid fisherman and hunter. Like his father, he loved to share his knowledge of wildlife and the outdoors with everyone he knew. The cabin at Loon Lake was Douglas’ sanctuary and he loved to spend time there with his family and friends. Douglas’ daughters and grandchildren were the light of his life.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Jessica Ottow Wroblewski and Stacy McCauley; son-in-law, Glenn Gellings; grandchildren, Brittani (Gage) Ottow, Hunter, Jenna and Gavin Gellings, Kristin and Adalynn Wroblewski, and Ryder Holmes; great-grandchild, Kingsley Holmes; companion, Charlean Femrite; sister, Debra (Steven) Harrison; brother, Darrell Jr. (Christine) Ottow; father- and mother-in-law, James and Phyllis Kneiert; sister-in-law, Lisa (Scott) Dragotta; nieces and nephews, Tim (Melissa), Brianna and Derek Bice, Jason (Jessica), Marissa and Bryce Thibault, Dustin (Tanya), Kimberly and Eloise Dragotta and Steve (Heather) Harrison; and many other family and friends.
As Douglas was a father figure to many people he is also survived by Maribeth (Michael), Mason and Kaleb Heimann, John Patz, Daniel (Sarah) and Colin Patz, and Bob (Martha), Georgia, Wyatt and Connor Moat. He is further survived by “Pops” Keith Femrite, and Paula and Mike St. Clair. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chris; son, Jason; niece, Stephanie and his parents Darrell and Lucille.
A private family burial will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, Mukwonago, assisted the family.
