BEVERLY PATZER

Beverly A. Patzer, 80, passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2019.

She was born in Rockford, Ill. on June 15, 1939 to the late Jess and Pearl (Storz) Swanson. She was preceded in death by her husbands William Worthington in 1978 and William Patzer in 2014, as well as her dear sister Arlene (Swanson) Sondell.

Beverly is survived by her daughter Polly (Worthington) Elrod, her son-in-law, Richard, her grandchildren Elizabeth, Ethan and Evan Elrod of Appleton, her sister Janet Swanson of Appleton, along with many wonderful friends who she will miss greatly.

She was an elegant, talented and adventurous woman. She and Bill Worthington were involved with the Delavan Lake Yacht Club for many years. Both donated countless hours organizing parties, helping with regattas and watching their Little “Pollywog” race sailboats, a gift shared by her father, his siblings. Beverly would find any excuse to host friends over for parties, cards, the holidays or just to have cocktails by Lake Michigan or on her patio.

Beverly also had a love for decorating. She worked for an advertising agency and as an interior designer. Oh, how she loved to decorate! If she was at Polly’s house, something was always being rearranged or added to the house by the time she left. It was known as the “Bev touch.”

Beverly loved the water and hosted many friends and family at her condo on Lake Michigan or at the Elrod’s cottage on Door County’s Clark Lake. A sunset cruise on the pontoon boat around Clark Lake with Polly’s family was one of her favorite ways to spend an evening. Taking her grandchildren out to dinner often followed.

Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Appleton on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 with a visitation from 1 to 3 p.m., service at 3 p.m. and a meal to follow. A memorial is set up for Birch Creek Music Performance Center Door County.
