Marsha J. Dopke, 81 of Elkhorn, passed away peacefully Aug. 27, 2018, at East Troy Manor. She was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Beloit, to the late Col. Fayette and Beatrice (Schutze) Merriman.
Marsha was an Army brat moving all around the United States and living in China during her childhood.
She married William B. Dopke on Oct. 20, 1954 in Elgin, Illinois, where they farmed together until they purchased their family farm in rural East Troy in 1966.
After 53 years of marriage, William preceded her in death April 3, 2008.
Marsha enjoyed needlework, sewing and knitting. She also enjoyed tending to her garden. Marsha was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Marsha will be deeply missed by her children, Audry, David, Paula (Michael) Wallace, Benjamin (Barb), Patrick, Joel (Nancy), Keith, Lawrence (Jennifer) and Russell; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; siblings, Janet (Joseph) Wilson, Mary (Brad) Cowan and James Merriman, and special family friend, Gary Schneidwent.
Funeral services were Aug. 31, at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory, Elkhorn, with the Rev. Timothy Prince officiating. Interment followed at White Oak Cemetery.
