Harold Hruska, 80, of East Troy, found peace at his home surrounded by his family on Aug. 19, 2018. He was born in Menominee, Michigan, where he also graduated from school.
He met and married his wife of 49 years, Ellen Kay (Henry), in Menomonie. They relocated to the East Troy area where they were longtime residents.
Harold was a member of the Waukesha Church of Christ, a U.S. Army veteran, and an active member of the American Legion Post 188, serving as the adjutant.
He loved woodworking and gardening, especially creating new apple trees. He had 38 apple trees.
Harold taught middle school for more than 30 years in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Eric and Keith; brother, Don (Jean); sister, Joyce (Henry) Buchman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Mary.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, at Legacy Funeral Services, 2974 Main St., East Troy. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
