Vera B. Lawton, 96, of Elkhorn, passed away May 24, 2017, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.
She was born May 17, 1921, in Elkhorn, the daughter of the late Charles and Dena (Ellsworth) Bray. Vera graduated from Elkhorn Area High School. She was married to Edward S. Lawton Dec. 6, 1941, in Oconomowoc. Vera was a member of Millard Community Church. She was a devoted housewife and had a deep passion for gardening, cooking, baking and sewing. Vera always attended all of her grandchildren’s 4-H events.
Vera is survived by her daughter, Mary (Ronny) Rohloff of Whitewater; six grandchildren, Brian (Andrea) Rohloff, Michael (Connie) Rohloff, Jeff (Raven) DeLange, Cheryl (James) Beane, Jennifer (Adam) Yurs and Joseph (Lacey Weaver) DeLange; nine great-grandchildren, Eloise, Edward, Elinor, Bryce and McKenna Rohloff, Connor and Ryan Beane, Dylan and Jordan Yurs and son-in-law, Jon DeLange. She was preceded in death by her husband; and daughter, Martha DeLange.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at Millard Community Church, N6713 Highway O, in Elkhorn with the Rev. Kristen Nelson officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at church. In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to Millard Community Church or Time is Now, PO Box 1, Lake Geneva, WI 53147.
