Gloria Church Ihnen, 87, of Delavan, died at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Janesville on Feb. 21, 2017, after a sudden illness.
Gloria was born June 5, 1929, in Illinois to Grant Alva Church and Bessie Elisabeth Pickering. She married Eldon Ihnen on Jan. 8, 1951. in Chicago. Eldon died Oct. 16, 2005.
Gloria was co-owner and operator of Ihnen’s Pet Pals Store in Delavan. She was a longtime member of First Evangelical Church of Elkhorn. She was a graduate of Agricultural College of Rochester. She loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by two daughters, Suz Ann (Mike) Shaffer, of Lenox, Iowa, and MaryLou Ihnen, of Delavan; two sons, Paul (Bonnie) Ihnen, of Delavan, and Randy (Linda) Ihnen, of Lake Worth, Fla.; two sisters, Letty Carney and Bonnie Rosen; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Grant. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Rau officiating. Burial will be in Southern Lakes Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove. Friends may call at the church from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
