Rodney C. August, 80, of Delavan, died Jan. 15, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1936, in Delavan to Earl and Mary (Radtke) August. He married Elaine Schwardt on June 9, 1956, in Delavan. He worked for 28 years at Borg in Delavan and then worked for the Delavan-Darien School District before retiring at Wileman Elementary School.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine; a daughter, Cheryl (Ken) Eimers, of Lake Mills; a son, Jeffrey (Linda) August, of Elkhorn; three granddaughters, Julie Eimers and Lisa (Kevin Voss) Eimers, and Laura August; a great grandson, Alex; a brother, Donald August, of Delavan; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janet; a brother-in-law, Jim; and a nephew, Daniel.
Funeral and visitation services were Friday at First Baptist Church, 212 S. Main St., Delavan with the Rev. Betsy Perkins officiating. Burial took place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan. Memorials can be directed to First Baptist Church in Delavan.
Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan is assisting the family.
