Sylvia M. Rindt, 80, of Palmyra, died peacefully Jan. 3, 2017, at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn.
Sylvia was born on April 15, 1936, in Hartford, the daughter of the late Alois and Margaret (Strothers) Klima. She married Richard Rindt in Butler, on Aug. 16, 1958. Sylvia graduated from Palmyra High School in 1954 and Carroll College in 1958 where she earned her teacher degree. Sylvia was a kindergarten and elementary school teacher for 44 years. She started her career with the Waukesha School District followed by Battle Creek Elementary School, Palestine Elementary School and retiring from Eagle Elementary School. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Palmyra.
Beloved mother of Dawn (Steve) White, Kelly (Steve) Kuhl, Shawn Rindt, and Deanna (Kevin) Kulow, cherished grandmother of Jeffery (Lindsay) White, Catherine White, Jonathon (Holly) White, Joshua Wohlleben, Madalyn (Brett) Larsen, Nathasha (Anthony Creasy) Parham, Elliott Kulow, dear sister of Madalyn (late Robert) Leissring and John (late Robin) Klima. Sylvia was loved and will be remembered by 11 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 2011.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church 313 E. Main St., Palmyra. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra.
