BRUCE H. ADSIT

Bruce Harold Adsit, 81, passed away Jan. 2, 2017, at his Town of Troy home. He was born Feb. 2, 1935.

He married Loretta (Bochler) on June 10, 1961, at Catawba Lutheran Church, Catawba.

He is survived by Loretta and daughters, Kerry (John) Isleb and Laurie (Robert) Biersack. He was the proud grandpa of Elizabeth (Isleb) Whitten (husband, Tyler), Katherine Isleb, Aliesha Biersack, Nicholas Biersack and Benjamin Biersack.

He is survived by his twin brother, Barry; siblings, Diane (George) Margosian, Phillip (Kris), Julie (Donald) Kalvestrand, Steve (Rebecca), and Mark (Pam); brothers-in-law, Jack and Alvin (Barbara) Bochler; and sister-in-law, Lorraine (David) Eshleman.

He enjoyed seeing his many nieces and nephews and their families at Adsit or Bochler family events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Gertrude (Koehn) Adsit.

He graduated from East Troy High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for six years. He worked for several manufacturers. His last employer was Miniature Precision Components, Walworth, from 1988 to 2005.

Bruce’s most enjoyable hobby was working at the family farm, which has been farmed by various Adsits since 1900. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking and all his grandchildren have special pieces made by him. He enjoyed golfing very much and often; he also liked to travel and fish.

He was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis/Lou Gehrig’s disease) in 2009.

He was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, East Troy, all his life.

His memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Timothy Kujath at noon on Saturday, Jan. 7, at St. Paul’s, 2665 North St. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.

He will be buried at Quarterline Evergreen Cemetery with a private service.

Memorials to the ALS Association or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church are suggested.
