Susan Jean Boring, 77, of Elkhorn, died at her home Nov. 25, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Susan was born Feb. 21, 1939, in Washington D.C., daughter of the late Gerald Kjorness and Helen (Holan) Kittleson. Susan spent her adult life as an RN, and took much pride in her work as a Hospice Nurse later in her career. Susan was married to Richard Boring July 31, 1971, in Antigo. Susan very much enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Chocolate City Quilters. She loved being in the kitchen and shared many family cooking traditions with her children and grandchildren. Susan was a member of the Briggs Road Evangelical Free Church and held a special fondness for both her bible study and widows group friends. One of her proudest accomplishments was a missionary trip she took to Honduras to put her nursing skills to good use.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. She is survived by her four children: Nadja (Bill) Krueger, Angela (Tim) Hastings, Myanna (Steve) Celmer, AC Faraca; adopted son, Tom Costa; grandchildren: Maria Celmer, Zoe and Alek Hastings, AJ and William Krueger, Avanti, Sergio, and Piper Faraca; siblings: Penny Graves and Keith Pruitt; and her beloved dog, Maggie who was Susan’s “favorite daughter.”
A private family service will be held for Susan. Susan’s family would especially like to thank Dr. Michael Hobbs for his longstanding and devoted care and kindness toward Susan and her family, the staff of Plaza Pharmacy who always went out of their way to ensure Susan was safely independent, Aurora VNA Hospice, for the special care and compassion they have provided Susan and her family and to the very special caregivers who provided Susan with her daily care, and came to be thought of as friends, our heartfelt thanks to you all.
