Mitchell A. Venema Sr., 89, of Delavan, died Nov. 25, 2016.
He was born in Holland Feb. 2, 1927, to August and Fannie (Kooistra) Venema. He married Ann Sjoerdsma Jan. 9, 1952, in Delavan. He was a farmer for 58 years and a longtime member of Delavan Christian Reformed Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ann; four children, Susan (Barry), Karen, Mitchell Jr. (Nancy) and Jean (Sean); three grandchildren, Michelle (Bob), Matthew and Melissa; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and sisters-in-law Andrew (Margaret), George (Dorothy) and Garritt (Margaret); and one sister, Frances (Henry).
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Delavan Christian Reformed Church, 850 Oak St., in Delavan. A private family burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan. Memorials can be directed to Delavan Christian Reformed Church building fund.
Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan is assisting the family.
