Ivan D. Riggs, 73, died suddenly Oct. 27, 2016, at his residence in the Town of Troy.
Ivan was born Jan. 5, 1943, to Henry and Margie (Waga) Riggs in Whitewater. He married the love of his life, Judith Ann Lean July 23, 1966, in Palmyra.
Ivan was an avid Wisconsin sports fan – Badgers, Bucks, Brewers, Packers, Whitewater and his beloved Mukwonago High School. He liked to golf, hunt (fox and raccoons especially), fish, farm, watch a good Western movie and play cribbage. He was a master of unique one-liners and quick sayings. He loved his wife, his friends and his Mukwonago High School family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, William (Peggy) Lean, Jr. of Palmyra, Martha (Bruce) Thayer of Palmyra and Mary Price of Elkhorn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many good friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, Harvey and Margie Riggs; and his in-laws, William and Bonnie Lean, Sr.
Funeral services for Ivan will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Thelen Funeral Services, W309 S4840 Commercial Drive, Genesee—northwest corner of highways 59 and 83. Visitation for Ivan will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, all at the funeral home.
