Our dear mother, grandmother, and sister, Teresa Lynn DuCharme Merriman, 59, flew up to heaven on the wings of angels to be encircled into God’s loving arms on Sept. 20, 2016.
It goes without saying that we will miss her dearly, but we know she is finally at peace. She was born on April 6, 1957, to Raymond and Beverly DuCharme and grew up in Delavan. After graduating from Delavan-Darien High School in 1976, she went on to college and eventually moved to Tampa, Fla. She first worked as a manager for Pizza Hut as she loved to work with people. She also continued her studies for becoming an interpreter of the deaf. After moving to Tucson, Ariz., she became a teacher’s aide for autistic children and, though difficult at times, she loved the children. She also spent most of her spare time reading, which she truly enjoyed. A day did not go by without her daily reading of Bible scriptures. She loved to laugh and tease her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Krishana (Patrick) Peters with grandchildren Alyssa, Kevin and Brendan of Lutz, Fla; her loving son, Andrew (Heather) Kilbride with grandchildren Luke and Hannah of Macoutah, Ill. She is also survived by stepmom, Ruth Dodge-DuCharme, of Darien; six sisters, Kathy (Mike) Skelton, of Minocqua, Sandy (Jim) Jones, of Tucson, Ariz., Mary Lou (James) Johnson, of Beloit, Annie (Mike) Wilhite, of Tucson, Ariz., Diana (Todd) Klade, of Darien, and Lori DuCharme, of Oak Creek. She met many friends along the way and she was very thankful for all the help and support they provided. She was preceded in death by both parents, Raymond and Beverly DuCharme; three brothers, Gary, Patrick and Tommy DuCharme; and a niece, Whitney Hanchette.
A memorial service is planned in Tampa, Fla., and also in Delavan in May. Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan is assisting the family.
