Dolores Cecelia Abbrederis (nee Groszkiewicz), 94, of Schofield, died Sept. 19, 2016, at Copper Leaf Assisted Living Home in Schofield. She was born June 20, 1922, in Milwaukee, to the late Edward and Marie (Jerzak) Groszkiewicz.
She attended St. Adalbert’s Catholic School and South Division High School in Milwaukee.
Dolores married Frank J. Abbrederis on Nov. 20, 1941. He preceded her in death Feb. 19, 2007.
She was an employee of National Paper Can and Tube, Sid-Harris Sportswear and General Electric Medical Systems. She served as secretary at Kennan-Catawba Schools after she and Frank retired to Price County, south of Kennan in 1977.
Her hobbies and interests included crocheting, knitting, flowers, sewing, outings with family, fishing, camping, hunting. She enjoyed travel to Austria to Frank’s relatives in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
She was also a volunteer at the Holly Shoppe in Stevens Point Senior Center after retiring. She moved to Copper Leaf Home February 2013.
Dolores is survived by her sons, James F. (Patricia), Stevens Point, and Frank J. Jr. (Sandra), Wausau; daughter, Linda S. (Roy) Rhode, Lodi; grandchildren, Carol (Guillermo), Matthew, Michael (Jessamyn), Lance (Angela), Derek, Jason (Teara), Travis (Kara), Amanda (Christopher); great-grandchildren Allison (Richard), Brandy, Kennedy, Reagan, Madigan, Avalon, Sebastian, Benjamin, Karis, Abigail and Judah.
She is also survived by her dear sister of Maryann Surdyk of Oak Creek.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Highland Church, 700 Hoover Ave., Plover. Her grandson, the Rev. Jason F. Rhode, will officiate. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
A memorial fund for the Never to Be Forgotten Honor Flight will be established in her name.
