James D. Hough, 80, of East Troy, died March 5, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 6, 1935, to the late William and Beatrice Hough, in Burlington.
Jim married his bride Maxine (Fisher) of 52 years and has been a lifetime resident of East Troy.
He served his country honorably as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force serving in the Strategic Air Command.
He loved his community of East Troy and because of his concern for the preservation of its farmlands and lakes, he was a Town of East Troy Supervisor for 10 years and served on several local and county committees.
He was also a member of St. Peter the Apostle Church, East Troy, and as a young father gave freely of his time and support to St. Peter’s School.
He will be remembered for his quiet, caring demeanor and his strong desire to do right.
Survivors include his wife; children: Angela (John) Huebner, and Tony (Jenni Nitsche); grandchildren, Alison Huebner (fiancé Justin Wauer), Jamie (Devin) Hall; and great-grandchild, Vincent, who brought joy and sparkle to his heart for seven months; sisters-in-law, Pat Hough and Bettyanne Minta; nieces and nephew, Linda (Robert) Clark, Debbie (Tim) O’Leary and Mark (Sandy) Minta; other relatives and many friends.
He was further preceded in death by his brother, Bill, and nephew, Jeff.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Friday, March 11, at St Peter’s Catholic Church, 1975 Beulah Ave., East Troy. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
Memorials to St Peter’s School or to St. Peter’s Church toward the restoration of the stained glass windows in his name are suggested.
