Ralph Douglas Quinney, 79, of Ripon, died Dec. 5, 2015, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital.
He was born June 4, 1936, on the family farm on Quinney Road north of Delavan and west of Elkhorn to Floyd and Alice (Holloway) Quinney.
He graduated from Delavan High School in 1954, from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and from Marquette University with a master’s degree. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
On Oct. 7, 1961, he married Lois Ann Houk in Oconomowoc. In 2000, after 37 years of service, he retired from M&I Bank, formerly Ripon State Bank.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, the Ripon United Way Foundation, Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Santa Club of Ripon, Ripon Area Food Pantry, Ripon Rotary, Town of Ripon Planning and Zoning Committee and the Ripon Educational Foundation. He was on the board of directors for Russell Manor in Ripon and the Ripon Historical Society.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lois Quinney, of Ripon; children Kathleen (Joe) Merrill, of Ripon, Karen (Kevin) Kleinschmidt of Merrill, Kay (Eric) Quinney-Burnard, of Lockport, IL, Kelly Quinney, of Brookfield, Bill (Corina) Quinney of Tucson, Ariz., Kasey (Michael) Holland, of Ripon, and Kimberly (Toby) Quinney, of Lombard, Ill; grandchildren Theresa Merrill, Allison (David) Rodriguez, Jacob Merrill, Travis (Megan) Kleinschmidt, Lucas and Kyle Kleinschmidt, Amber (Chris Stapelfeldt) Prellwitz, Amanda Prellwitz, Cavin Burnard, Christopher and Tamera Holland, Quin Rock, and Ryan and Evan Quinney; great grandson, Jeremy Schantner; sister-in-law, Marian Pastors, of West Bend; brothers-in-law, Dennis Houk, of Racine, and Jim (Cheryl) Houk of Oconomowoc; a brother, Earl Richard (Solveig) Quinney, of Madison; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Alice Quinney. Visitation and a memorial Mass took place Dec. 11 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon. A memorial has been established.
