Joanne K. Burki, 75, of East Troy, died Feb. 16, 2016. She was born in 1940 in Burlington to Zennor and Eleanor Barker and attended East Troy Community Schools.
She married her former husband Lawrence Gordon Burki and lived on a dairy farm on Highway D.
During her years she enjoyed many pleasures: horses, sewing, dancing, piano and had a special talent for accordion. The people that know her would say, that she was a “yard sale” enthusiast spotting them from a distance. But most of all she had a love for her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Lawrence “Tony” (Julie), Stuart (Judy), Valerie Zindler, Danell (Larry), and Phillip, of Janesville; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Angela, Christina Burki, Valerie Epright, BobbyJo White, Tony Riek, Nicole (Steven Vernon) Zindler and David Zachary Zindler; great-grandchildren, Taylin David Zindler, Tory, Haley, Anthony, Coby and Toby; special companion and best friend, John Solederholm; one brother, other relatives and many friends.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 at Legacy Funeral Services, 2974 Main St., East Troy. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens, 3045 Highway 67, Lake Geneva.
