Josephine M. Drake (Kryzaniak), formerly of Palmyra, went home to our Lord on Feb. 6, 2016.
She was born July 27, 1926 to Albert and Helen Kryzaniak in Oshkosh. She went to St. Joseph’s Parochial school until the 8th grade and graduated from Oshkosh High School.
Upon graduation she worked for the telephone company where she met Bernard Drake. They were married in 1948 and he died in 2001. Through the years they lived in Oshkosh, Milwaukee, Tichigan, Lake Geneva, and Palmyra. She enjoyed bowling and was on many leagues throughout her life. She also enjoyed playing cards, knitting, and crocheting. She volunteered her services at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the voting booths in Palmyra.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Joseph Kryzaniak, John Kryzaniak and Albert Kryzaniak Jr.; and one sister, Eleanor Ulrich. She is survived by one brother, Anthony Kryzaniak (Joan), of Rockford, Ill.; and one sister, Lorraine Baldwin, of Simi Valley, Calif.; sons William (Pamela) of Trempealeau, and Kenneth of Snellville, Ga.; daughters Ruth Ann (Tom) Petitt, of East Troy, and Susan (Kevin) Townsend, of Colo., five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 919 W. Main St. Palmyra. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of Mass at the church. Private burial will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
