Shirley L. Thompson, 87, of Janesville, died Dec. 2, 2015, at Huntington Place, in Janesville.
She was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Herrick and Margaret Halford. She graduated from Rufus King High School in 1946. She married the boy across the street, Kenneth L. Thompson on Dec. 28, 1946. Shirley enjoyed being a wife, mother, homemaker, friend, and most importantly Grandma and Granny.
She is survived by her son, Timothy (Patricia) Thompson, of Janesville; grandsons, Christopher (Bobbi) Thompson, of Orfordville, and Nathan (Carol) Thompson, of Janesville; 11 great-grandchildren, Hank, Christopher II, Korah, Madyson, Jonah, Gabriel, Anikin, Keanu, Jilian, Hosannah, and Lailah; one sister, Patricia Baumann, of Waterford; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth, in 1992; and her brother, Douglas Halford in 1996.
