William K. Berger, 86, died Sept. 1, 2015.
Bill was born July 5, 1929, in Whitewater to Mr. and Mrs. William Berger (deceased) and moved to Milwaukee shortly after contracting polio when he was 16. The last four years he was bed-ridden at the Sunrise Care Center in Milwaukee after suffering a stroke.
He was married to Cloie (Hall-Jolliffe) for 30 years. He is survived by his wife in Tonganoxie, KS; and brother, Ron, in Manteca, CA.
He started out as an accountant with Country Garden Foods in Milwaukee. He also spent time as a scheduler for a large TV sales and repair company, also in Milwaukee.
Bill spent 70 years wearing braces on his legs and using crutches. He never complained about his misfortune and was an inspiration to many that have suffered physical setbacks.
Handling the final arrangements is the Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, next to his parents. No services are planned at this time.
